Summer FunA beautiful tan isn't a sign of good health; rather it is a sign that the skin has been damaged by ultraviolet radiation. By the year 2001, 1 in every 90 people in the US will get malignant melanoma. That's startling, isn't it? Protect yourself and stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm when it is at its strongest. When you do go outside, wear a generous amount of a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Tightly woven clothes will also protect your skin. Don't forget about your lips, they are very vulnerable to skin cancers, so protect them with a balm of at least SPF15. And of course your eyes, remember - it's cool to wear shades! Have fun in the summer sun and be healthy and safe!
